What is Nutrition

Nutrition is the science of food and its interaction with the body to promote maintaining health. Nutrition, therefore, is a combination of processes through which all parts of the body receive and use the materials necessary for the performance of functions and for the growth and renewal of all components (rejuvenation).
Optimal nutrition means that a person receives and uses essential nutrients in appropriate quantities, as required by the body, and at the same time an additional “reserve”.
The state of good nutrition refers to introducing a well-balanced diet that provides all essential nutrients for the body’s needs.
If this principle is respected, then a person can claim to receive optimal nutrition. (Food pyramid).
A state of malnutrition or poor nutrition refers to an inadequate, or even excessive, supply of nutrients that are unable to meet the body’s needs.
Excessive or insufficient nutrition can also cause a person to become malnourished.
Malnutrition refers to physical effects on the human body caused by inadequate food intake or in insufficient / excessive quantities or of poor quality.
